Experience spectacular coastal scenery and exceptional marine wildlife on a sea kayaking adventure in a world-famous marine reserve. You can’t get much closer to marine wildlife or the ocean than sea kayaking without jumping in!
Your Sea Kayaking EcoAdventure
Our sea kayaking tours happen along the Walker Bay shoreline, under a two-hour drive from the vibrant capital of Cape Town. Framed by rugged ocean cliffs and rolling mountains covered in unique fynbos flora, Walker Bay is world famous for its incredible winter whale watching.
We often see whales on our sea kayaking tours during the colder months. Conservation restrictions require that we always maintain a 300-metre distance from these protected species. Nevertheless, seeing them this close in their natural habitat is a magical and unforgettable experience.
Even in the warmer months when whales vacate our shores, Walker Bay is a phenomenal hub of coastal life. It is an official Marine Protected Area – a status that protects its diverse aquatic species and allows them to thrive. The region is also arguably among the most beautiful places on the planet.
Our kayaking tours allow visitors to encounter the area’s rich marine wildlife in its spectacular natural habitat. Led by skilled guides passionate about marine conservation, this ecoadventure requires no former kayaking experience. Sea kayaks, paddles, and life jackets are cost-inclusive.
*Please note: Our sea kayaking adventures depend on appropriate weather, wind, and swell conditions. We reserve the right to cancel the trip any time to ensure client safety.

Whales (Seasonal)
Between June and November, southern right, humpback, and Bryde’s whales travel from Antarctica’s icy oceans to South Africa’s Western Cape coast. The reason for their epic annual journey is to mate and birth in our more temperate waters, where their calves have a better chance of survival.
Every year, we are graced with their presence and ocean antics, which occasionally include full breaching. This is a monumental feat for an animal that reaches up to 23000 kilograms in adulthood! Yet whales make it look effortless – just one of their many amazing characteristics. As summer descends on the southern hemisphere, the whales head back south, taking their offspring with them.
